Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service

APHIS Vienna serves all of Eastern Europe and the New Independent States from the Tyrol to the Sea of Japan!

Veterinary and plant health attaches of the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) of USDA are assigned to the American Embassy in Vienna in order to support professional relations with counterparts in the agriculture ministries of European nations. For more information on APHIS's services and activities in Europe.

What we do:

Plant and Animal Health Information:

Pest and Disease Issues: Information on current United States plant and animal health programs and initiatives.
Quarantine Regulations: United States federal and state phytosanitary or zoosanitary conditions that apply to the movement of plants, animals, and their byproducts into the United States.

APHIS Technical Information:

Regulatory Procedures: Inspection and/or treatment of plants, animals, and byproducts for entry into United States commerce.

Trade Facilitation: Technical collaboration with the public and private sectors to promote commercial activity.
